Almost half a year later and I'm back with another review! Everything has been so hectic lately and the new year came and went so quickly. Guess this is my first blog and first website update for 2018. Anywayyy, I got to try out a few products from the Revlon Photoready line thanks to Crowdtap! I was super excited for these products and have been using them for a couple weeks now so I could fully test everything out.
Pictured above are the products I received from Crowdtap. From left to right we have the PhotoReady Sunlit Dream™ Highlighting Palette, Revlon® PhotoReady™ Concealer (top), PhotoReady™ Eye Primer + Brightener, and the PhotoReady™ Translucent Finisher.
I'll start with the product I liked the least, which was the Eye Primer + Brightener. I'd give it a 3/5. It's not a terrible product, but it's also not the best primer I've ever used. I like the applicator, even though it did take a while for the product to come out. It's similar to lip glosses where you twist the bottom and the product comes up through the little brush on top. I like the brush since it makes application easier. As far as the formula, it seems to crease and get kind of cakey. As an eye primer, eye shadow doesn't show up as well as other products I've tried, and I didn't notice a brightening effect. This product is said to "reduce the appearance of lines and creases under eyes," but as I mentioned before, it does seem to cake up, which doesn't work well with fine lines/creases. Unfortunately, this product is not something I'd recommend or purchase in the future.
Next up is the Revlon® PhotoReady™ Concealer, which I received in the shade light medium. I don't use concealer very often and I'd rate this a 4.5/5. I found this concealer to be creamy, easy to apply, and give excellent coverage! I used this product under my eyes and to cover up some acne scaring. It blended out easily and covered everything up completely. Plus, a little definitely goes a long way. I don't have much to compare this to, but I really like it and will probably purchase it again in the future.
I've been looking for a new translucent powder ever since I ran out of the Tarte smooth operator Amazonian clay finishing powder. I was reading reviews for a drugstore dupe, but nothing seemed to catch my eye. I was super excited to receive the PhotoReady™ Translucent Finisher and so far, I like it enough to purchase it in the future. My skin is left nice and matte upon application and it does leave a sort of air brushed effect. Unfortunately this powder doesn't hold up through an entire work day and I still notice my t-zone getting oily. Overall, I do like this product and would give it a 4/5.
I saved my favorite product for last....
the Sunlit Dream™ Highlighting Palette. I know highlighters are really popular now and I've slowly been getting into them. I like a nice glow, nothing too crazy. I don't need to look like there are wet sparkles all over my face. Lol, I'm oily enough as it is. Anyway, I only own a couple highlighters, which I like a lot, but I was super stoked to receive this palette. It's my first highlighting palette and the colors are so pretty. I like that there are different shades, which makes it versatile and easy for people of all skin tones to use. I've tried out all of the shades and like them all, but for a simple every day look the two top shades work best for my light skin. This product definitely gets a 5/5 from me!
And to wrap things up, here are some photos of the products in use below. Swatches in the first couple photos and a few shameless selfies using the products. Thanks for putting up with me and getting through this post if you made it this far!
